Give the Gift of The Outdoors
It’s December 22nd—three days before Hanukkah and Christmas. You still haven’t finished shopping for gifts for your loved ones. Maybe you’re a procrastinator (I know I am). Maybe you’ve been in bed with the flu. Or maybe you just don’t know what to buy.
Luckily, we’re here to save your hiney. Why not give the gift of the outdoors this season? It’s thoughtful, and you don’t have to battle holiday crowds or tangle with wrapping paper.
Below are some of our favorite places to donate this season, but you can also pick your favorite non-profit. Happy holidays!
American Hiking Society
We love our friends at the American Hiking Society, and we just know that Aunt Sally will too! Donate to AHS to help build and protect hiking trails and conserve the land around them.
Appalachian Trail Conservancy
The ATC always holds a special place in our hearts, but they especially need support this year as they try to rebuild 31 miles of the Appalachian Trail that were ravaged by recent wildfires. Plus, your Uncle Tommy will get a nifty calendar as a thanks for the donation in his name.
First Descents
We all have a friend or family member who has been affected by cancer. Donate in someone’s honor and help give young cancer survivors an outdoor adventure experience. Plus, Subaru and CNN Heroes will match your donation!
Nature Conservancy
Want to help save the planet and add another stuffed animal to little Joseph’s ever-growing collection? The Nature Conservancy lets you choose what you’d like to donate toward and what gift comes with it.
Parks 4 Kids
Give the gift of the outdoors to a child in need this holiday season and hep build the next generation of nature advocates. Don’t have a lot of money left to spend? $10 gives a child a powerful park experience!
